B90: Day 1 - Genesis 1:1 to 16:16 - Complete!

Scripture:
The verse that popped out to me the most was Genesis 8:21
The LORD smelled the pleasing aroma and said in his heart: “Never again will I curse the ground because of humans, even though[a] every inclination of the human heart is evil from childhood. And never again will I destroy all living creatures, as I have done.

Observation:
God tells us that from an early age, our hearts are sinful - sin is not something that starts when we are adults.

Application:
I must be vigilant in teaching my children about God and making sure that they also know their savior from an early age. They must know what it means to be a Christian and learn to live their lives to be Christ-like. It is my responsibility as their mother to ensure that they are brought up in the way of the Lord.

Prayer:
Lord, help me to be the mother for my children that you want me to be. Let them see Christ reflected in my life and learn to live Your Word in their lives. Thank you for opening my eyes to Your message on this day. Amen.

What is SOAP?

Today, I started the B90 challenge - a program of reading through the entire bible in 90 days - through the Mom's Toolbox blog. I also decided to start using the method of SOAP: Scripture, Observation, Application and Prayer. A clear explanation of what this means can be found here.  So, at least for the next 90 days, my posts here will be My Daily SOAP based on the readings from the B90 Challenge. At the end of 90 days, perhaps the habit will be made and I will continue using SOAP with whatever bible study I do next.
